Expo Circular is a video installation commissioned for the German Pavilion at the Dubai Expo 2020. Steel members of the pavilion are digitally disassembled and reconstructed into new canopies for future use. Discrete parts of the construction were modeled and simulated in Unity to flock between different design iterations while an interface showcased material being recalculated for re-use. The project rethinks temporary venues as not single-use spectacles but rather a parade of permutations that can go on indefinitely.
A PAVILION CONTINUOUSLY REBUILDS ITSELF USING THE SAME STEEL STRUCTURE INTO EVER-EVOLVING PERMUTATIONS.
