Speculative products inspired by Kintsugi hint at a near future in which repair culture bring about new material assemblages and circular approaches to design. Laufen products were digitally broken and pieced back together using biomaterials such as algae, amber, wax, and plant based polymers.
The bio-porcelain hybrids were animated and displayed throughout the store during Berlin’s Gallery Weekend and Vienna Design Week 2023.
