2022

For the Museum of the Future Dubai, Certain Measures envisioned a monitory station for planetary ecology. The immersive installation places visitors in an Earth transformed by the climate crisis, where a fictional organization called the Heal Institute observes and remediates damaged ecosystems and bioengineers new species fitted with genetic traits designed to combat ecological threats like drought and plastic pollution. Holographic displays and a hand-held device guide visitors through the room’s vitrines and videos which act as portals into an alternative future.

THE ROOM SIMULATES A MONITORING SYSTEM DESIGNED TO OVERSEE THE OVERALL HEALTH OF ECOSYSTEMS IN THE YEAR 2070.

ALONG THE WALLS, NEWLY ENGINEERED SPECIES ARE BEING DESIGNED TO REMEDIATE LANDSCAPES DEVASTED BY THE ANTHROPOSCENE.
